TRANSLATION
Amampondo are a tribe of south africa that falls under the xhosa culture. So when she says ndili mpondo she is paying dues to her tribe and sect. As in south africa all belong to certain tribes which have their distinct roots although there r main cultural groups that they fall under in this case her cultural group is xhosa but her tribe is amampondo.She'sjust praising her clan and people.
Mpondo people belong to an independent tribe just like Zulus, Xhosas,Ndebeles, Tswanas, etc. It is therefore complete distortion to imply that they fall under Xhosas culturally or otherwise. This confusion was created by the apartheid government using spooks who occupied leadership positions during its era. Mpondos were even marginalized and ridiculed all in an effort to make them succumb to apartheid driven administration thus attempting to render this tribe unrecognizable in the process.
