Nichume releases her debut single Thobela which she features Mobi Dixon & T-Love
Thobela is a deep soulful house song with the added live element of trumpets playing, which references the amapiano genre on the production. It was produced by featured artists, Mobi Dixon and T-Love.
Nichume sings the lyrics of the song, which are about getting up even when you do not want to and doing something that forces you to find your happy place, like dancing. The chorus and hook of the song provide the dance moves one can do to shake their worries off, one of which references legendary kwaito group Boom Shaka’s 1996 hit song, Thobela. The other dance move she asks listeners to do is the KwaZulu-Natal-popularised dance move, the ‘gwara-gwara’.
